Weekend Festival
2020 Date TBD

4rd Annual Weekend Festival – Featuring Tom Miller! Join us in Denver for a fun-filled weekend of music with our special guest artist and clinician, Tom Miller. Tom is one of the premier steel band educators in the US but also a well-known performer, arranger and composer.

Steel Works

Steel Works – Our most advanced group. Tons of music, tons of fun!

Steel Works is the premier performing ensemble in RMSB.  We are currently working on our outreach program.  We have fun assembly programs for schools and senior centers.

Our special program will include many fun and familiar songs. Plus a cool rendition of how steel drums were invented as we perform with bamboo bamboo and even our replica instruments.

Typical Sessions:
Mondays from 1-3pm

Steel Workin’ On it

In January we’ll start working on some brand new music. I’ve picked out a big variety of songs that include some new tunes and great tunes from our past. Basically, a bunch of songs you’ll love!

This session will run from January to April. We’ll end the season with a big concert plus a performance at the RMSB open house.

Then, in May, this group will become the Summer Performance Band. We’ll keep all the tunes from Winter/Spring but add several more songs! Are you ready to play?

Steel Alive

Steel Alive is a group of talented musicians aged 10-17. Over the years the personnel has changed but the music has always been fantastic.

The band has recorded three CDs and have toured throughout Colorado and New Mexico. The latest CD, “Pandemic,” is now available.

The best way to start is by joining the beginner class for a month or two and then move to this group. Some musicians with lots of previous musical experience may be able to just jump in.

Typical Sessions:
Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30

Christmas Band

The Christmas Band has started up again!

We’ve performed at some really fun gigs.  If you’d like us to come play for you,  just send us an email.

It’s always a little strange practicing Jingle Bells in August, but we do what it takes to be prepared!  We are so excited to have another great year and have many exciting performances lined up!
